Family Conference
30-minute required monthly conference
Service Description
*Effective July 1, 2024* At Vermont Literacy Network, we prioritize strong communication between families and educators to support our students' success. That's why we've introduced a Mandatory Monthly Family Conference for all students enrolled in Individual Lessons. These 30-minute meetings allow families and educators to discuss the student’s progress, address any challenges, and share resources to enhance learning at home. Conferences are held by phone, in-person, or virtually, with at least one parent or guardian required to attend. The student is typically not present to ensure an open and focused conversation. In addition to the mandatory monthly meetings, families are welcome to book additional conferences anytime they need to discuss their child’s progress or any concerns. If a family cannot attend a scheduled conference, it's crucial to reschedule promptly, as consistent communication is key to the student’s success in our program. During each conference, both parents and instructors share insights on the student’s strengths, areas for growth, and recent achievements. Together, they collaborate to set goals that challenge and support the student, creating a well-rounded plan for continued progress.
