About
Children ages 5-8 are invited to a fun and educational afternoon at our Pumpkin Jack Workshop! In this hands-on workshop, children will dive into the fascinating world of pumpkins and their life cycle. We’ll start with a cozy read-aloud of the best selling book “Pumpkin Jack,” which tells the story of a jack-o'-lantern’s journey from Halloween to becoming something new.
After the story, children will engage in a collaborative conversation about decomposition and how nature works its magic. Each child is encouraged to bring their leftover jack-o'-lantern from Halloween to participate in this unique project. We'll provide a jar for them to store their pumpkin, and they’ll have the opportunity to observe its transformation into new pumpkin plants at home! We encourage all participants to share their pumpkin's decomposition progress will us as it occurs.
Don’t miss out on this engaging blend of storytelling, science, and hands-on discovery!
